Welcome to The Anchor

The Anchor dates back to 1864 where it is recorded as a tavern in the name of Mr E Newman. We enjoy an idyllic setting on the edge of the River Cam overlooking the Mill pond. We are also a very short walk away from Cambridge city centre. The Anchor has the ideal location if you are looking to enjoy fine wines, traditional English food, along with a nice jug of Pimms while relaxing in the sunshine and watching the punts go by. The Anchor is a haven for quality cask Ales, great pub food served all day and an atmosphere that is synonymous with the Cambridge lifestyle. The founding member of Pink Floyd Syd Barrett was a regular at the Anchor riverside bar during the sixties and the riverside bar now boasts a lasting tribute to his legacy in the form of a special commissioned mural. We are available for private hire and corporate hire.
